Telecommunication Devices for the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
Thank you for your interest in our telecommunication devices program here at SLIC. Our telecommunication equipment is accessible to those who meet the
requirements of being deaf, hard of hearing, or speech disabled. There is
no cost or time limit for the use of any of the equipment. Below is the
different types of equipment we provide. Also, you will need to have your
Family Physician or Nurse sign the blue "Needs" form or if you have a copy of
your hearing test from your audiologist, that would fulfill the requirement for
equipment. Please do not hesitate to call me for more information
concerning our program or to make an appointment to receive equipment.
Please note that sometimes there is a waiting period for equipment when our
stock runs out, but please call regardless to reserve your requested equipment
when more is shipped to our center.

The Alertmaster AM-Combo includes the base unit, bed shaker, wireless

Pocket Speak and
Read VCO
The Pocket
Speak and Read will easily attach to mobile phones, pay phones,cordless
phones as well as traditional phones and call boxes. (Works best on analog
telephones.) Simply place the device on the earpiece of the phone using the
attached elastic straps and call the state Relay service. Then talk into the
mouthpiece and read their responses. (Person receiving VCO call must change
their TTY to Baudot.) |

An in-line amplifier which boosts in-coming calls up to 100 times the normal

An optional receiver which will work with any of the

Alertmaster transmitter. The signaler can be worn on your belt and works up
to 80 feet away. Two hardwired AA batteries are included as well as an A/C
